Entering the Sisterhood - The Elevation of a New Sister!

The Vancouver Sisters are growing!  Please help us welcome to the Sisterhood, Sister Bodice Rippa!  Bodice has taken the long and scenic path towards becoming a Fully Professed Member with the Vancouver Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence of the Long Cedar Canoe.  Today, she elevated from Novice to Sister, thus completing the first leg of her journey towards Joy!  An element of the elevation ceremony is "the veiling" where Bodice was given a coloured veil by her supporting member, Sister Koo-Koo Kachoo.  Bodice dropped to her knees and with guidance from Reverend Mother Diversity Rains, she recited her Sister vows.  With tears in her eyes, she perfectly professed intentions to promulgate Joy, expiate stigmatic guilt and serve the community.  However . . . it was difficult to tell whether her tears of Joy were from reciting the vows or being on her knees . . . or both.  Couldn't tell.  :)

To elevate from Novice to Sister, Bodice had to complete a resume highlighting her inner and outer joy as well as completing a novice project.  She chose to produce a document called "How to be a Trans Ally".  She tirelessly interviewed contributors and thoroughly researched trans terminology.  Her final document provides "tips and information on how to become an ally to the Transgender community, and other Gender Identities and Expressions."  In an every growing landscape of the definition of gender, her work comes at just the right time.  Although it does not and cannot cover every individual, her work will help start the conversation on the right step.  Look for her document to be part of the Sister website in the coming months.

Sister Bodice Rippa, welcome to the Sisterhood!
