Dim Sum to Raise Some . . . Money

L-R - Novice Sister Bodice Rippa, Reverend Mother Diversity Rains, Sister Festivus Illuminata and Novice Sister Fancy Pants

The Sisters were on hand, bright and early, to help AIDS Vancouver with their 9th Annual Celebrity Dim Sum.  We are still awaiting the final tally of funds raised, but what an amazing time we had.

Celebrity Dim Sum would not be complete without international and local celebrities, with the Sisters there to help them reach into their deep pockets to pull out the cash and plastic to Square it out for a great cause.  Every penny raised this morning will be going to help fund the many services AIDS Vancouver provides for their clients.  We helped to sell raffle tickets for a Westjet flight to anywhere Westjet flies.

Other festivities included a Live Auction (which alone raised $5000), a Silent Auction and a Chicken Feet eating contest.  An very special item up for Live Auction that raised $3000 was an entire cast signed, original manuscript for the Vancouver-based show, Once Upon A Time.  International Celebrity Lana Parrilla (The Evil Queen) brought this with her to gift AIDS Vancouver's Fundraiser.  Not only is she talented but also very humble and giving.

In between servings of delicious dim sum served by the Four Seasons Hotel, the Sisters flitted through each table selling as many raffle tickets as they could.  Our own Sister Festivus was a asked to be a Celebrity Server.  I'm not sure what she was serving but I'm sure there was some special Sister Fairy Dust sprinkled all over it.  Kong Hey Fat Show me the money!!
